The focus of our summer hybrid program are 50 students (middle and high), between the ages of 12 – 16 years old residing in under-served and under-represented communities in Baltimore County, Maryland. 


The dates of the program are June 29 – August 7, 2020. The program will employ certified instructors where youth will enhance their innate skills set, acknowledge new knowledge and certifications that will prepare make them one step closer to becoming gainfully employed and breaking the cycle of poverty during their summer experience. 


The design includes four (4) components:  Leadership Training & Development Through STEM, Workforce Development Education & Certification, Career and College Readiness, and Health and Wellness. 

Participants will receive Summer Program Starter Kits and we have weekly field trips. Programming is Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 am and on Saturday 9 am - 12 pm.  Program changes must be subject to change necessary.

Program Design:


  1. Leadership Training and Development Through STEM (Hybrid)

    • Team Building Exercises

    • Communication

    • Portfolio Development

    • Cultural Diversity

    • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

      • Construct geodesic dome;

      • Construct robotic hand;

      • Design and test bridges;

  • Design and build building structures and tunnels; 

  • Construct geodesic domes;

  • Construct tall towers;

  • Make and evaluate what makes good building material.

  • Fundamental Courses (Online)

    • 6 weeks – 24 hours of Classroom Time

    • Certified Instructors

    • Support from Mentors from Summer Program

    • Received New Skillset and Certification of Completion 

  • Certification (Hybrid)

    • CPR/AED Adult/Infant Certification (all participants – in person)

    • Swim Certification (Those Interested)

    • Track & Field Certification (Those Interested), etc
